“In my experience, children tend to want to and be willing to have kind of difficult conversations. So I think it's like finding a way to do that that isn't kind of too anxiety-inducing for them. But it kind of develops that awareness so rather than just grow up carrying on with, I don't know, what their parents have always done, you know, they're able to maybe be a bit more critical about, I don't know, how they are in their own lives, or how we are as a school, as a whole, or just kind of how they are in society. They need to grow up with being able to be critical of that, don't they? And make some kind of decisions for themselves.” Newcastle-based primary educator
